COMMENTS!!!!

Just to clarify for everyone. Not only is this a blog for people to read about Trevon and how he is doing in the Mission Field, but I also plan to make it into a book for when he returns. I really feel that comments made by all of you would be a great addition to this book. Even if it is just a comment that has nothing to do with his letters, it would be great! So, since 41 people have visited this blog, there should be at least 41 comments! (And to date, there are ZERO!!!) So, let's get the comments rolling, all right??!?!!?!??!

September 29, 2008

Hello family,
None of us were expecting the transfer calls we got.
Vincent left this morning, along with all his cd's so we have nothing to listen to. So, Mom, I was hoping you could send all of my cd's like my EFY ones and just anything that doesn't take away from the Spirit... those are our only rules with music.

And Elder Wiedmeier is leaving, but I am staying in St. Augustine... 3 companions in 3 transfers.

So, I am sorry I haven't been acknowledging your letters. I love to receive them! I got one from Taani, Kelly, Shannon, Mistie, Sara, and Mom, Dad. and thank you for all of them! I especially enjoy the ones written by my nieces and nephews. They rock!

Last weekend we baptized Adriana Arriaza, who is the really old lady from Guatemala. I'm not sure if I told you about her. She is scared of the water and it took two people to baptize her... we did it in the pool and they had to do it twice.

Elder Vincent was really lame yesterday. He made us forget our entire schedule and go visit people from the ward. So, we didn't do any non member work all day. It was really frustrating. But it's all good!

I cooked steak on the grill last night and it was really good. I have done a lot of chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs on it.

Mom, you will be proud to hear that I have started doing physical therapy work on my shoulder just cuz I think it could be stronger. So I am doing all the workouts that they had me do after the surgery.

Well last week was really slow. I am sorry for how little I have to write. I love you all.

September 22, 2008

So this is Elder Vincent's last p-day.

And I might get transferred next week. So if anybody has a letter to send, send it before this Friday or wait until my next email to find out if I am still in St. Augustine.

We got another baptismal date for Adrianna, a 80 year old woman from Guatemala. She can barely stand up so we are going to have Elder Vincent and another really big guy from the ward baptize her in a swimming pool... she is really large.

She refers to Elder Vincent, Wiedmeier and I as her children because we have spent so much time teaching her.

We also taught this sweet lesson to a guy we met tracting named Mike.
He refers to himself as a spiritual missionary and he follows where the spirit is strongest... he said that if we showed up to his house and told him that he was going to hell he would still like us because we have a light?
He is really cool though, he is a football coach at a Catholic school: but he doesn't like football at all... its kinda funny but we got to go to one of his JV football games and sit on the field...

It has been pretty hot this last week. It only rained like 3 times which is the least amount I've got since I arrived.

I was reading in Leviticus this week, and I read the chapter about Jacob's ladder... it is pretty deep. At first I thought it was kinda like Lehi's dream because it says Christ is at the top of the ladder so it's like your supposed to keep climbing even though its such a long way...
but Joseph Smith translation says that Christ is really not at the top of the ladder, but He is standing next to Jacob... I did a lot of studying for it and would love to hear what anybody else thinks about this scripture and what the dream means... its in Leviticus 28 I think. I don't have my scriptures on me so I can't look it up to make sure.

So, I have 45 dollars left on my church card for this month so I might be buying another tie next week... we get 100 dollars a month to spend. So I have gotten pretty good at saving money... yeah!

Not much else happened last week. I was sick and kinda still am but I just take some multi vitamins and it's all better.

Well, I will try and take some pictures and send them home. But I don't have any right now so it will probably be a while.

Well I love you all

P.S. I didn't get any letters this week ;)

So. I guess I lost the memory card then because it was in the letter.
that's a bummer cuz there were a lot of good pictures in it...
Well this last week was all right. We missed the hurricane and I'm kinda bummed about that but it looks like it did a lot of damage in Texas.
We got a baptismal date set for October 5th for this girl named Denise. she is pretty cool she lives in the ghetto and is a manager at Mcdonalds.
The other day while we were on tradeoffs Elder Vincent and I tracted into this really racist black guys house... it was hilarious ! He told us to just say bye and walk away and we started teaching him and he just kept saying 'say bye' and then he said 'I'm black you're white. we don't like each other'... then Elder Vincent was like 'I love you man' and the black guy got really mad and told us to leave and as we were walking down the stairs Elder Vincent said 'I love you' And he said 'just say bye' so we waited for him to close the door and went and put a card on it for the Book of Mormon... it was really funny.
I got my haircut today and I went to Good Will and got a tie for 2 dollars and a Grill for 4 dollars and it works... we are going to go tie shopping today I'm pretty excited! I want to get a really sweet one... the orange one I got that was in the picture with Elder Vincent in the first set of pictures I sent home, I found its double but backwards and I really want it but its 20 dollars and thats expensive... it's blue with orange flowers and I found another one there that is blue with green flowers and vice versa...
in case you didn't see it I have gained an affection for paisley ties, the ones with the flower designs... they rock!
We went to another church event on Saturday it was a three on three street ball competition... there were a lot more white people than I was expecting. Our ward mission leader, his assistant, and another guy from the ward entered in it and got third place which was pretty good. I wanted to play so bad I think that if Elder Vincent , Wiedmeier and I could have played we could have at least got second...
After the tournament the preacher who set it up gave a sermon... it was really frustrating... he was a really nice guy his name is Marcus...
and he is like 23
One day he just decided to move from Ohio to Florida and start a church... he had no money or anything and he was talking about how people need to come to him to be saved... it was really frustrating. I was getting mad cuz he didn't have the authority to 'save' anybody... that is like an ice cream truck driver pulling you over and giving a speeding ticket.
it was so gay.
By the way i haven't heard from Jake, Chantry, or Jared since I left the MTC. Jake is the only one with my mission office address but I don't get the mail if it is sent there for a long time... so if somebody could please send me their addresses then I would really appreciate it.
I hope that this letter was a little better than they have been in the past, I am trying to add to them.
I love you all.

September 8, 2008

Well this week was very hot.
We were tracting all week and we got 14 new investigators! But no body incredible, but we will keep working on that.
Mom I am sending home a letter and its got the memory card in it.
It has been really good to hear how everybody is doing. I have been doing fine lately. Elder Wiedmeier got really sick last Monday so we didn't go out and at about 2 o clock in the morning I woke up and was throwing up for a couple hours. We think that it was something we ate.
We started teaching this girl named Allie. She dances... we are teaching her at Pam Masters house. She is her dance teacher and she reminds me of Taani. It's really funny but she talks way too much and it kinda takes away from the Spirit.
Anyway Allie's fiance is on a mission right now and before he left he had told her that they would get married and everything when he got home no matter what... he has been out just as long as I have and he already wrote her and told her she had to get baptised or they were through... so I think its safe to say we will have at least one baptism this transfer. We are trying to get one of Allie's friends to come and learn from us too... Sister Masters took the two girls to Salt Lake and a bunch of other Mormon sites and both of them are fond of Mormons. They just don't really believe. But we hope that we will fix that.
We are doing alot of service this week. I think every day.
It's going to be intense.
Now that you have sent me a family picture it would be kinda nice to get a frame for it too mom... :)
And before I forget I need a new oil vial. I think I left mine at the mtc. when i gave Elder Miller a blessing. Cuz it is nowhere to be found... I would get my own; but the closest Deseret Book is in Orlando and we aren't alowed to go there anyways...
Well I'm takin a pretty long time to write and I'm sorry I don't write more. I just don't know what to say... maybe I will get better at it someday:)
Love you all tons

I knew I would forget something... it is all right for you to send me emails and that goes to everybody in my family... I just really enjoy getting letters! But if you don't want to send them for some reason... (Travis)... then you can write emails... and I heard in one of the papers you sent me that Ron Artest got traded... where too are their any other blockbuster trades that I should know about. And how did the U.S.A. basketball team do?
Love you all.

Elders Weston, Chadwick, Ricks, Miller, & Rogers

Well this week was really annoying. We pretty much dropped all our investigators and are trying to get new ones, so we were tracting all week. We didn't get any... it was nuts! The ones who don't slam the door in our faces don't want to change their lives. We do have a family of four with a baptismal date for the 27th, and two other people that are pretty close to getting dates.
Tomorrow is zone conference. We have to go a long way for it. I hope it's good. But I hopefully will get some mail when I get there.
So I was wondering, mom, if you were planning on sending me those ties back... I would like some more of the shirts from CTR clothing. Most are too tight... I want the athletic fit ones, and I am even considering trying some size 17 necks instead of 16. They are so bad when it gets humid and sweaty outside.

Well, we started going to the gym this week. We get in for free. It's pretty sweet. And on Thursday night we found a huge blue crab while we were tracting. It was just in the middle of the street. It took us forever , but we caught it. I wanted to cook it cuz I heard blue crab is really good. We all let it pinch us with it's claws and it was very painful. It drew blood. And I got a pretty good scar.
Today while was getting dressed Elder Wiedmeier walked in and shot me in the behind with an air soft rifle. It stung! It was pretty funny though, I got a huge welt.
Well, I hope everybody is doing good. It sounds that way from your letters, but I don't have any pictures of anybody, so I would love to recieve some in the next week or so.... "HINT HINT"
I want to buy a grill but I don't want to have to buy any charcoal or propane cuz I don't have room or money so if you happen to see a small electric grill could you buy it and send it to me and I will pay you back. I am still looking for them though so if I get one I will write you back. But they don't have any at Walmart and that's the only place we go.

Well I love you all
